Venue spotlight: Shoreditch Treehouse
Once a month we hold a #secretconcert at Shoreditch Treehouse.
Not been yet? Let me convince you why it’s the best kept secret in London!
Hidden in the heart of Shoreditch, just a 5 minute walk from Old Street station - a breathtakingly beautiful loft full of plants, unique and quirky furniture, and most importantly of all - a concert Steinway Grand piano! Truly one of the best pianos we have had the pleasure to play in London.
What else is Shoreditch Treehouse used for?
You may have seen Lang Lang and Mika rehearsing here recently on Channel 4’s ‘The Piano’. Shoreditch Treehouse is used for a whole multitude of different things including photoshoots, filming, yoga, conferences, workshops, short lets, and of course DEBUT’s #secretconcert series!
We are so lucky to be able to host our concerts in this beautiful space.
What can we expect from a #secretconcert at Shoreditch Treehouse?
It’s a unique way to watch live music.
A cosy intimate setting, extremely talented musicians, a relaxed environment with the opportunity to chat to the performers & even try the Steinway in the break - alongside delicious food supplied by Apothecary East.
Each concert showcases a varied group of performers - in June our resident pianist Sam Pena and founder Lizzie Holmes will be joined by a mezzo-soprano, a baritone & a bassoonist!
For how long have we been bringing top classical music to the treehouse?
Since 2017!
Ranked as a 'Top 5 Airbnb Experience Globally' in 2018 and with over 300 ★★★★★ reviews from around the world already, this is a concert experience unlike any other.
Over the years we have had performances from an incredibly diverse group of talented individuals - from top opera soloists and cellists, to the theorbo and the Guzheng (most recently at our May 2023 concert!) to name a few.
How about food & drink on the night?
We have the fabulous Apothecary East (based just across the road) serving delicious sushi & gyoza at the concerts.
They are a Japanese restaurant & cocktail bar serving handcrafted Tokyo-inspired cocktails alongside small plates & snacks. We’d highly recommend checking them out if you’re in the area!
Our drinks policy is BYOB (just no red wine please!). Why not bring along a bottle of bubbly (or two) to enjoy with your friends and loved ones.
What is else is nearby?
Not familiar with the area? There are tonnes of restaurants and bars nearby.
One of our favourite spots is BOXPARK - made of shipping containers, it was the world’s first pop-up dining & shopping destination, founded in 2011. There are over 20 street-food & sweet-treat vendors. Noodles, sushi, falafel, vegan burgers, churros, pasta… you name it and you can grab it at BOXPARK.
Convinced you to come for your next date night? Want to experience something new?
DEBUT’s monthly classical music experience south of the river at Brunel Museum’s historic Grade II* listed Thames Tunnel Shaft. Join us for our much loved Christmas Celebration (early booking recommended, these concerts sell out fast!)
