When I performed at the Royal Albert Hall with my boyfriend for the very first time for the ATP Tennis Championship. We were in the middle of a Tennis Court!!
What inspires you
A good movie, a chat with a long time friend, walking in nature. And of course my violin idol, Jascha Heifetz
What would you change about the industry?
I think classical music needs to feel more essential to people’s lives and other arts. We need to make sure we don’t turn our back on exciting collaborations just because they don’t come from a strictly speaking “classical music industry”. We need energy, innovation, creativity. We should tell stories, create exciting shows, engage younger generations using their language and communicate through social media.
As musician, it is our responsibility to make a change for the better.
.. and what makes you love it
I love the fact that I can make people smile, laugh, cry, I can make them feel something, an emotion through my violin and my music. Meeting incredible human beings on this journey is also an incredible privilege and a fun part of my job.
Being able to live as a musician is a real gift.
Song everyone should listen to
Anything Ella Fitzgerald ever sang!
Favourite piece to perform
Probably Vivaldi Four Seasons.. such a fun piece to play on stage with other musicians!
Whats tough about being a musician?
Work/life balance!
Favourite quote
"Your music can never be more or less than you are as a human being" (Quincy Jones)
