Julia began her musical studies in her hometown but finished her Bachelor of Music (Hons) and masters in Musical Research at the Conservatiorio Superior de Música “Óscar Esplà” de Alicante with the prestigious clarinettist José Franch Ballester as her main tutor. After finishing her studies in Spain, she was accepted onto the Orchestral Artistry programme at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in association with the London Symphony Orchestra. Her main tutors included Andrew Marriner, James Burke, Joy Farral, Robert Ault and Jennifer McLaren and she was awarded a Timothy Gee Foundation awarded to support her studies. She graduated with distinction and a Concert Recital Diploma, alongside a scholarship for young musicians awarded by The Marjorie & Dorothy Whyte Memorial Fund Award.
She has worked and collaborated with very prestigious orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid. Thanks to those experiences, Julia has had the privilege of working with prestigious conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Marin Alsop, Gianandrea Noseda, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Ben Gernon, Roberto González Monjas, Vassili Sinaisky, and Takuo Yuasa among others.
Julia is a very active musician in Chamber Music groups, and a founding member of groups including The Lakeside Clarinet Quartet, Klei Quintet and Aeolian Duo. All this and more has led her to play at such prestigious places as Wigmore Hall, Barbican Center, Carnegie Hall in New York and in the National Auditorium of Spain. During the pandemic Julia decided to explore the possibilities of Video Game Music which has brought her to collaborate with international VGM Cover artists and recently be named Musicnotes Artist as a VGM Arranger.
