Following the sell out success of our DEBUT at Shoreditch Treehouse Concert Series (launched in 2017) from April 2018 we're delighted to announce the launch of our new Masterclass Series.
We'll spend an afternoon at the Shoreditch Treehouse, a hidden bohemian gem in the heart of London. Surrounded by hundreds of fairy lights, beneath our vaulted wooden ceiling with plants draping from the rafters you'll be invited to gather round our 9ft Concert Grand Steinway Piano (the same make as in the Wigmore Hall) and watch renowned pianist and broadcaster Iain Burnside lead 3 duos through songs and arias. This intimate and friendly afternoon throws open the doors to classical music and offers our audience a unique insight into how performers bring a piece of music to life.
Masterclass Leader: Iain Burnside
Iain Burnside is a pianist who has appeared in recital with many of the world’s leading singers (“pretty much ideal” BBC Music Magazine). He is also an insightful programmer with an instinct for the telling juxtaposition. His recordings straddle an exuberantly eclectic repertoire ranging from Beethoven and Schubert to the cutting edge, as in the Gramophone Award-winning NMC Songbook.
Away from the piano Burnside is active as a writer and broadcaster. As presenter of BBC R3’s Voices he won a Sony Radio Award.
