As part of the Lighthouse’s new Sanctuary Programme they’re opening their doors to new Artist Residencies over the summer months.

DEBUT/DRAG

Bringing together the worlds of opera and drag into a groundbreaking new show, DEBUT/DRAG will maximise the potential of drag as a fun, interactive and contemporary form of storytelling, merging this with the most dramatic and breathtaking moments of opera. DEBUT has built a reputation for throwing open the doors to classical music and curating memorable musical experiences, Ranked Airbnb’s #1 Music Experience Globally in 2018 (Forbes) and hailed as ‘a great introduction to some of the best talent’ (Opera Now), they’ve enjoyed sell-out intimate concert experiences at the Royal Opera House, Cutty Sark, Russell-Cotes Museum, venues/festivals around the UK and their flagship Shoreditch Treehouse series. Led by DEBUT’s founder, Dorset born soprano Lizzie Holmes, the show takes the audience on a whistlestop tour through the exciting, passionate and sometimes strange world of opera by drag artist, singer and opera fan girl Miss Davida Loca.

The showing on Friday 20th at 2.30pm will include an introduction to the project, a sing through of the new material (created during the week) and a Q&A with the artists. Get in touch with Lizzie to be added to the Guest List
